Andrew Tilmann

Andrew Tilmann is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Sovereign Bay Capital, L.P. He brings a multidisciplinary background in engineering, operations, and regulatory strategy to lead the firm’s investment execution, operational due diligence, and risk management efforts. With deep expertise in process optimization, financial modeling, and capital allocation, Mr. Tilmann plays a central role in shaping the Fund’s investment philosophy and portfolio governance.

Before founding Sovereign Bay Capital, Mr. Tilmann held senior leadership roles in advanced manufacturing and life sciences. As a Senior Engineer at Entegris, he led product development initiatives in CMP and next-generation semiconductor solutions for leading global fabricators, contributing to the advancement of technologies in the chip manufacturing supply chain.

Previously, he served as Lab Director at Innovative Healing Solutions, where he oversaw the end-to-end development of a regulated processing facility. He also managed all aspects of operations — including compliance, production, logistics, finance, and capital planning — while serving as a regulatory advisor to the Ohio Department of Commerce and Board of Pharmacy.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Tilmann was a Project Engineer at Pratt Industries, where he played a key role in the development of a large-scale recycled paper mill, including the design and implementation of core utility and process systems.

Mr. Tilmann holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering: Life Sciences from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Western Michigan University. His combination of technical acumen and operational leadership provides a differentiated perspective on investments requiring deep domain insight and disciplined execution.

Outside of work, Mr. Tilmann enjoys spending time with his family, playing with the family’s standard poodle, Murphy, and pursuing projects that engage his curiosity and problem-solving mindset.
